ONLINE ENTRIES OPEN 1ST MARCH 2012
START TIME: From 08:00 onwards on both days.

START / FINISH: Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival Grounds – Waterfront Drive

All cyclists are to enter their respective holding areas at least 30 minutes before the start of their race. Once in the area, you may not leave. A MAP and details of the holding areas will be available in your race pack. Cyclists are to slow down immediately after crossing the finish line so that they can cross the transponder pads.

PRIZE GIVING:
Prize giving for the MOUNTAIN BIKE events - to be announced.
Prize giving for the ROAD RACE - to be announced.

Only cyclists PRESENT AT GENERAL PRIZE GIVING on race days will be eligible for prizes. Medals will be given to all finishers who finish within the cut off time.

PRIZES:
Prizes valued at over R70 000.00
Age category prizes will be sent to riders after prize giving when all results are finalized.

Please Note: It is mandatory for 10% of the prize money for pro-riders to be paid to CSA

Road and Children's Event Registration
Date / Time: Saturday the 2nd July from 10h00 - 17h00

GENERAL INFORMATION:
  1. Although there are not many thorns, there are rocks on the mountain bike routes.
  2. The race courses are long, please take plenty of food and liquid with you.
  3. Cyclists not used to long rides are advised to pace themselves properly.
  4. There will be vehicles at most marshal points. If you break down, push or carry your bike to the nearest point for a lift back to town after the race.
  5. The Back Marker will have a radio and anyone in trouble can wait for them.
  6. Ride on the route as laid out.
  7. Caution is required at main intersections.
  8. Remember you are riding at your own risk.
  9. The Provincial Traffic Authorities have insisted that there must be NO SECONDING along the N2.
  10. NO HELMET NO RIDE.
  11. NO TRANSPONDER NO RIDE on the road race routes and the mountain bike routes. No transponders are required on the the Spur Rotary Knysna Children's Tour
  12. Keep to the left of the road, especially on gravel roads.
  13. Marshals and first aid officials will withdraw at 15h30 on all routes.
BENEFICIARIES:
The Rotary Club of Knysna uses the funds raised by this event to support a wide variety of people in the Southern Cape. The Vermont Home, Knysna Sports School, Knysna Education Trust, Epilepsy South Africa and the Knysna Sea Cadets are a few of the organizations that have benefited from the proceeds of the Pick n Pay Weekend Argus Rotary Knysna Cycle Tour.
