Race Rules 2012
ONLINE ENTRIES OPEN 1ST MARCH 2012
  1. The route will be shown on the map and it is the sole responsibility of the entrants to familiarise themselves with the route.
  2. Cyclists must ride in a predictable and responsible manner and obey all traffic rules, traffic officers and marshals.
  3. Cyclists are to keep to the left of the road and are not to cross over the centre at any time, except where shown by a marshal/traffic officer.
  4. Entrants must complete the course entirely under their own power.
  5. NO TRANSPONDER NO RIDE FOR THE ROAD AND MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE.
  6. NO HELMET NO RIDE!. Throughout the race headgear MUST BE SECURED TIGHTLY and NOT BE LOOSE.
  7. An additional late entry fee of R40.00 will be charged. Entries close after the first 6000 entries received.
  8. Bring your own safety pins.
  9. Entry forms must be clearly printed and completed in full. The organizers reserve the right to declare incomplete or illegible entries as late entries.
  10. Failure to comply with any of the rules may result in disqualification.
  11. Only conventional bicycles and conventional tandems may be ridden except in category A. BMX bicycles, MTB's and bicycles and tandems with disks or covered wheels are deemed to be conventional. Bicycles and tandems with fairings and attachments to improve airflow, supine recumbent, extended bicycles, tricycles, pedal cars, machines known as human powered vehicles - HPV's - and other similar machines are deemed to be unconventional. All unconventional machines including unconventional bicycles and unconventional tandems are only permitted in Category A.
  12. Bicycles, tandems and other machines fitted with unconventional handlebars including triathlon-bars, aerobics, clip-ons, prayer bars, turned-up bars and cowbars are not permitted in any category, even Category A.
  13. Children who are 10 years old, must be accompanied by an adult who is directly responsible for them. (No children under the age of 10 years may enter any of the events except the Pick n Pay Rotary Knysna Children's Tour). No participant may carry any passenger for example - a child in a baby seat.
  14. Age will be calculated as on the date of the Tour.
  15. JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL (see point 9)
  16. Entry fee is not refundable.
  17. T-shirts will be issued on proof of those who ordered on presentation of entry confirmation slips at registration only.
  18. No tandems may ride the mountain bike events.
  19. PLEASE NOTE – There will be no late entries accepted on the morning of the event.
  20. Results will be placed on the race website www.knysnacycle.co.za.
  21. No T-shirt will be mailed to entrants. If you order a T-shirt and you are not happy with the size, you may enquire at registration on Sunday after 10am to see if you can swap sizes

WAIVER
Entrants and participants ("participants") in the Pick n Pay Weekend Argus Rotary Cycle Tour ("the Event") acknowledge that although all precautions have been taken by the organising body to ensure the safety of all participants, there may be dangers inherent in participation in the Event and activities related thereto. Participants voluntarily assume the risks of attendance at and participation in the Event and hereby waive all claims of whatsoever nature and howsoever arising in relation to the Event or otherwise against any parties, including but not limited to the organising body, the sponsors, the advertisers, any local authority and/or directors, employees, suppliers and assistants of these parties, including any individual, official, marshal or agent ("the Parties"). Participants hereby irrevocably indemnify and hold harmless the Parties against any liability and claims of any nature whatsoever and however arising (whether directly or indirectly caused and whether arising from negligence, albeit gross, or from the participation or involvement in or passage to or from the Event or otherwise) including but not limited to liability for delay, inconvenience, accident, death, injury, illness to their person, or loss or damage to property or costs and expenses sustained, incurred or put to by Participants and/or by any minor children under the care or control of Participants. Parents or guardians authorising a minor's participant in the Event which shall prima facia be evidenced by their signature on the entry form, hereby consent to such minor being bound to the aforegoing and further indemnify the parties to extent, if any, to which such minor is not capable of waiving his/her rights as stipulated above.

ONLINE ENTRY CONDITIONS
I confirm that by entering my profile number, PIN and password I have authenticated myself as the person that is authorised to debit my account with the amount of the transactions and hereby instruct the Bank to pay such amounts to the third parties that I have nominated via the systems. I further confirm and agree that I shall not be entitled to countermand or amend such instruction once the bank has received and implemented the said payment instruction and that the payment instruction is subject to the Nedbank terms and conditions for use, to which I am bound. I confirm that the purchase of all products and services ("the Goods") constitute an agreement between myself and the third-party suppliers("Suppliers") and I agree that all my rights and remedies with respect to my order, purchase, possession and use of the Goods and all maintenance, updates, warranties, liability and any other obligations related to the goods, if any, shall be subject to the applicable terms and conditions of the Suppliers.

I further confirm that Nedbank is not party to any such agreements and has no responsibility or obligation in regard to the agreements other than to effect payment to the supplier as duly instructed and I shall have no right of recourse against Nedbank Appropriate risk mitigating measures need to be taken to counter the possibility of fraudulent transactions. Appropriate risk mitigation procedures can be developed in conjunction with Nedbank.
